Happy New Year to you and your skin! After the holiday season your skin may be feeling pretty dull, dry and possible even breaking out, so now is the perfect time for a fresh start, so why not make skincare resolutions to bring the life back to your complexion!
There are certain skincare steps that you can’t skip if you want clear, smooth and healthy skin, so take an oath and add these to the list of your yearly promises.
Here are the five skincare resolutions everyone should make – and stick to!
#1 Give Your Entire Body The Attention It Deserves
We usually focus our skincare routine on our faces, but the skin doesn’t end there.
Your body also needs to be cleansed, exfoliated and moisturized as much as your face. 2023 is the perfect year to start tending to your body during your self care and beauty routine. Maintaining your well-being is more than just applying products on your skin, it’s about nurturing and caring for your entire body with love, affection and the attention it deserves.

#2 Drink Plenty Of Water Throughout The Day
This sounds like an easy one, but the surprising truth is that most of us don’t drink enough water during the day. Did you know that dehydration is the main cause of dull and dry skin, so not only is water effective in brightening the skin, it also hydrates the skin cells which makes your skin firmer and appear more youthful and radiant.

A tip on how to get your daily 2 liters of water: Invest in a large water bottle and set a goal for how many times you want to refill it everyday. You can also use a fitness tracker on your phone to hold yourself accountable.
#3 Protect Your Skin From The Sun
One thing we have learned on our skincare journey is that sunscreen is a must and essential in your daily routine. Whether you’re staying at home or you’re stepping out, even the mildest UV exposure can cause sun damage to your skin and lead to premature ageing, skin cancer and pigmentation “sun spots”.

The best way to defend your skin from the damaging effects of UV rays is by applying a generous amount of sunscreen on all visible body parts 20 minutes before you leave the house, and reapply when needed.
#4 Add A Serum To Your Routine
The most basic skincare routine includes a cleanser, toner and moisturizer, but do you use a serum?
A serum is applied before your moisturizer and gives your skin extra benefits that your moisturizer just can’t do alone. There are many different options when it comes to choosing the right serum for you, so explore the different types and pick the right one for your skin concern.

For example, if you’re in need of a hydration boost try our Hyaluronic Acid Serum, which was formulated to absorb your moisturizer better and control sebum production – perfect if you have acne breakouts often.
#5 Exfoliate Regularly To Maintain Clear Skin
To truly give your skin the revitalization it needs, you need to incorporate an exfoliation session at least once a week.
Our pores can easily gather impurities like dirt, sweat, excess oil, and bacteria leading to acne breakouts and even a dull complexion. In order to bring back life into your skin, finding the right exfoliator will be a game changer. If you suffer from body acne, consider trying out our Lemongrass & Ginger Salt Body Scrub.

However, try not to overdo it. Once or twice a week is fine, otherwise you could strip your skin of its hydration and cause micro tears if you scrub too hard.
